For more accurate calculations it's recommended to set your local tax rate. Please note that in most countries the sale taxes are already included in the final price, skip this step if you're in one of those countries otherwise continue.

Please note that US residents have two other options to set tax rates. The second option for US residents is by selecting the sales State rate by going to Settings > Tap on the Rate field > Select your State > Done . The third option would be to let Total Plus auto detect your local sale tax rate based on your location. For this third option you need to subscribe to the Auto Tax Detection feature by going to Settings > Upgrade > Tap on the Try It Now button. Yes, it's only $1/year, no hidden fees, cancel anytime.
Create favorites for items that you constatly buy. Favorite items are a great way to reuse items throughout lists. Favorites can also be inserted direclty to your cart.

Enter the name, price, quantity, tax rate, assign a category and add comments.

Plan your lists at home. Please note that Lists are reusable and can be inserted directly to your cart.

The next thing you may want to do right after creating a new list, is add items to it. There are two ways to add items to a list. The first one is by tapping on the List Name, then tap on the plus sign + and create new items.

The second option is by tapping on the List Name, tap on the Add Favorites button, select items and finally tap on the Done button.

There are three ways to add items to your cart. The first one is by inserting items direclty from the calculator screen.
After you have calculated the price for an item in the calculator screen, you can tap on the Cart button to insert it to your Cart

The second option would be to insert all items from a list by going to a list and tapping the Use List button.
Lists > Select a List > User List
The third and last option would be to insert Favorite items directly from your Cart.
Cart > Tap on the More button > Favorites > Select items > Done
